"Is it us who lack time, or is it time that has none to spare for us?"
In that moment, we felt as though time had decided to dedicate itself to us. The sole spectator of our moments, it observed how we devoted our time to time itself.
Through this confinement, we learned to live alongside time, to listen to it, to take the time, and most importantly, to give it.
The playwright and choreographer of our scenes, time gifted us its presence. Without words, it inspired us, directed us, and guided us through these moments of movement where dance found its meaning. It allowed us to share and rediscover precious moments that, through its passage, will remain etched forever.
This work is presented as a series of four videos. These videos showcase, through four different excerpts, four moments experienced in four distinct spaces of our daily life. A journey in search of time, tracing the personal path of de-confinement between a father and his son.
"SOLI CON IL TEMPO" is a video artwork born during the pandemic lockdown of 2020/2021, a period marked by isolation and a redefinition of daily life. This intimate and introspective creation portrays the moments shared between a father and his son, confined within the close quarters of their home.
Through this work, we follow their quest to fill time and reimagine the spaces around them. Faced with imposed spatial boundaries, they transform their home into a sanctuary of expression and creativity, a space imbued with emotions and meaning. The confined and familiar spaces become a stage for shared experiences, tactile explorations, and gestures that build lasting memories.
"SOLI CON IL TEMPO" offers a poetic reflection on the value of human connection in times of constraint, particularly the bond between a parent and a child. Through scenes filled with tenderness and vulnerability, the film captures how these two individuals reclaim everyday moments, filling them with precious memories and deep connections.
This work is a testament to resilience in the face of adversity and an homage to human ingenuity. It reminds us that even in situations of confinement, time can be transcended through love, memory, and art. The audience is invited to share in this universal experience, which, through simple and sincere details, highlights the beauty of shared presence and the richness of intimacy."
